You may have heard that recently some industries in and around Vancouver are still open to foreign workers under stick Covid-19 protocols. In fact, this is true. A number of areas of the economy such as the film industry have started to reopen under pandemic protocols. In an article posted June 30th 2020, Global News stated that “more than a dozen productions gearing up to restart under the government’s Phase 3 guidelines“.
That’s not all though. The Canadian government is allowing foreign nationals to entering the country for work as long as they have applied for a valid work permit or letter of introduction (also known as a POE), before boarding a plane to Canada. This means that if you have a work permit you will still be allowed into Canada for work.
However, this process can be complicated. The Government of Canada has put in place many restrictions, and exceptions to these restrictions outlined in PC Number: 2020-0441. We at Taraz recommend that you speak with our agents for further details. Furthermore, if you are a temporary worker exempt from travel restrictions, the standard 14-day quarantine period will still apply for all those entering Canada before they can begin work here.
If you have any questions about working in Canada, or are already working in Canada and would like to extend your work permit, you can contact Taraz Immigration Services for more information. We can help you with all things work related when it comes to living in Canada.
